Crystal Castles & HEALTH have deigned fit to re-release 'Crimewave', one of the better tracks from the Crystal Castles LP I thought.. Probably one of the weaker ones from the HEALTH//DISCO one though. If you've heard either of those you'll know what to expect from the lead job, with Gameboy sounds, pizzounding beatzzz and a cut-up vocal riff that seems to divide opinion. Brian reckons it shits his face off but I quite like it myself! The remixes are pretty cheesy and not all that exciting, but y'know.. Remixes so rarely are. What the label says: Radio Edit * Sinden Remix * La Riots Remix * Keith Remix Crystal Castles will be on the cover of the NME the week their new single ‘Crimewave’ is released. It will be their second NME cover in less than six months.

About the humble 12":

The 12" is the big brother of records as it's an fatter version of the 7", with a vast scope for an array of remixes and B sides. They are slightly less portable their smaller inched brethren but they're by no means inferior. Often the grooves are spaced wider apart and thus sound much much better. You can fit ample tracks on and if worse comes to worse they make fine plates (should your crockery go awol). Yes, there's a hole but holes are easy to sort out. Once again they're available on many different colours and guises. The best thing about a 12" is the potential vastness of the artwork. Also playable on many speeds!!
