My Morning Jacket with Sweatbees (their first single on Wichita ) which seems to be a compilation of stuff previously released on Darla, Jade Tree and Badman. This lot have recently been hyped to hell by the NME and for once it is justified. They write really melodic heatfelt pop songs and the singers voice seems to be on a piece of elastic as it streches and swoons all over the place. Bit of Neil Young here bit of REM plus bits of Songs Ohio and Black Heart Procession as well.

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
