Those Christian rockers The Polyphonic Spree are back with a new single on 2 CD's and 12". Annoyingly you need all 3 formats to get all of the tracks. The 12" has the RJD2 remix of Soldier Girl on (not on CD), CD1 has The Bees remix on and a new track and CD2 is live gubbins. It's all very christian rock and I can't help but think of bad school bands. I quite like it though. Light And Day is somewhere between Syd Barret and St Winifreds School Choir...

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
