Mo Wax superstar collective Unkle (which looks like Lavelle on his own now) have their new single 'Eye For An Eye' which sounds a bit like a psychedelic soul sandwich to me. An uplifting tune for sure with a cool Temptations vocal sample & strummed guitar giving the whole thing a drifty, cinematic summer festival vibe. DJ Shadow lite bleats FB from the corner of our office which now has more records in it than HMV. CD & 12" with a DVD to follow apparently. A real grower with some nifty mixes to boot! On Island!!

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
