What the label says:

Rykosopp's "Eple". Propellorheads "Take California." The Wiseguys "Start The Commotion" Bam. Bam. Bam. If they could have kept that up for two whole CDs this comp would be permanently lodged in decks all over the world. As it is, there's more great stuff from Zoot Woman, Akasha, E-klektik, Blak Twang, American Analog Set and plenty of others, including a full continuous-play 2nd disc of remixes that should revive even the sleepiest partygoers. (Propellorheads with Shirley Bassey? Shut up!) Given the diversity of the Wall Of Sound catalog, one might think this would be a project to cherry-pick for mixtapes and it certainly is great fodder for the rip.mix.burn generation. But as it turns out, the tracks on the first disc all hang together well enough for a straight-through listen, thanks mainly to the golden ears of labelmeister and producer Mark Jones. After all, those ears are what makes the label the tasty blend of indie and beats it's known for in the first place. Here's to another ten like that, 20 Years of Wall of Sound here we come!

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
