 This record left our Brian feeling ecstatic.
Two Lone Swordsmen have been remixing the bizarre & wonderful
for years now so It's time for an appraisal of their knob-tweaking genius.
As a rabid fan of the majority of releases on Rotters Golf Club, I was
somewhat horrified to find that 'Peppered With Spastic Magic' (Ace
title!!!) contains mesmerising re(de)-constructions of 'classics' by the
likes of whiny twats Starsailor & Scottish bland pop gimps Texas. But
as in the case of Aphex Twin's recent remix collection ( Jesus Jones &
Curve anyone?) IT ACTUALLY WORKS! Points knocked off for omitting the
amazing remix of Red Snapper's 'Some Kind Of Kink' which makes me glad I
grabbed a vinyl while we still had some! Other featured artists include
Calexico, Lali Puna, St. Etienne, Primal Scream & erm.... Stereo
MCs.
Luke Slater mix is shit hot! CD only.
