What we say This record left our Clint feeling unmoved. On the subject of The Darkness it fills me with yuletide pride to announce that even this late in the year we have a contender for most cynical cash in of the year courtesy  once again of those folks at Guided Missile (do they just release novelty records now?). Yep following on from The Diff'rent Strokes and The Diff'rent Stripes we now have The Diff'rent Darkness. A joke that's worn as thin as Justin Hawkins disappearing mane. Think of all this years bandwagons (novelty icy electro, crap rock, daft cover versions) all rolled into one. What the label says: 1. I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE is a weighty indie/electro/rock/dancefloor version with sultry, female, german-accented spoken vocal, big electroclash beats, 'intergalactic'-style synth bass and full-on distored RAWK guitars! 2. GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY WOMAN is a full on 'exotic'-keyboard-meets-RAWK- guitar workout - like a weird collaboration between AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Perrey & Kingsley and Raymond Scott! 3. LOVE ON THE ROCKS WITH NO ICE is, curiously performed by 'special guests The Orff Orchestra - a band consisting entirely of toys', and features accordion, sitar, kazoo, theramin, toy xylophone and musical saw! .

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
