Wa-hey. Lets start with the B side. Its a Boards of Canada remix. Well I haven't been so disappointed since they stopped showing 'Ever Decreasing Circles' on TV. Ok ok its not that bad I guess its just the weight of expectation. It doesn't really sound like Boards of Canada, it doesn't have any of their emotion and Dose One and Why?'s voices sound too high. I think it might be a grower though  The music is kind of twee. Its catchy I'll give it that. More like Lemon Jelly to these ears...or maybe The Beatles. Moving swiftly on to the A side the original track by cLOUDEAD is excellent  - again the voices sound too high. Its less murky than their last stuff- more accessible and there's nary a hint of hip hop. There's a more left field track 3 as well featuring Jel. Dead Dogs Too is on Big Dada.

About the humble 12":

The 12" is the big brother of records as it's an fatter version of the 7", with a vast scope for an array of remixes and B sides. They are slightly less portable their smaller inched brethren but they're by no means inferior. Often the grooves are spaced wider apart and thus sound much much better. You can fit ample tracks on and if worse comes to worse they make fine plates (should your crockery go awol). Yes, there's a hole but holes are easy to sort out. Once again they're available on many different colours and guises. The best thing about a 12" is the potential vastness of the artwork. Also playable on many speeds!!
