Devendra Banhart is a quirky chap indeed. Singing all about little yellow spiders and whatnots. XL have released a single called Little Yellow Spider before his new album is due next week The man is clearly bonkers, listening to his music. I've never heard anyone mention crabcake in a song before and I'm pleased someone has finally. It's a good thing which needs mentioning. It's got a warbly Bob Dylan/ Marc Bolan ish feel to it. I'd love to meet the guy. Part of me thinks he'd be an utter recluse who'd speak in a language I couldn't hear and I wouldn't be able to see him either. He'd be some sort of weird being, but ultimately he's a daft hippy and I like this lots...

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
