What we say

Rating: unmoved This record left our Phil feeling unmoved.

Danish wunderkins Mew are back with a new single featuring slacker king J Mascis whining/ whinging over the verses. I've never heard a man sound less interested when he's singing than J Mascis. He may as well be asleep.... in fact he probably was. It's big brash Euro indie pop which is uber catchy and uber polished....Not their best tune..... it's On ltd 7"  and 2 x CD. CD2 is 9 tracks in total (count 'em) and it features a Mogwai mix. Lordy me.....

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
