Oh how an amalgam of Blondie, early Cure & The Smiths would twist my soul into new shapes right now. Well heelllooooo ladies!!! What is this dinky troupe of yours called then? "The Organ" ? Phwoar fnarr fnarr etc. Well I like this tons. Sad, beautiful & heartbreakingly comforting in production, pace & power, 'Brother' is simply some of the finest bits of all those great bands melted down into a charming trinket to treasure. I mean, I feel like firing the likes of Editors really. They blandly steal from the past but offer nothing remotely new. These fine ladies just make you realise how fragile the human spirit is whilst shaping perfectly formed mini classics. About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
