What we say This record left our Phil feeling sad. was really hoping the new Zutons single called Valerie was gonna be a cover of the ole Stevie Winwood tune. Then I was hoping it would be a cover of the class Baby Bird tune of the same name. Alas I'm subjected to something which sounds like the Coral doing AOR. If that appeals then please buy them. Brian says he's warmed to this tune.... I'd rather scrape my own feet off with a cheese grater and walk to Liverpool on my bloody stumps and kick them in the nuts than have to listen to this once more.....

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
