So after that comes IRON & WINE with a mountain dew flecked take on The Postal Service's 'Such Great Heights', a song that local indie club Strangeways can't actually finish the night without playing. I like this bearded bear's music lots. It's the most pure & pretty take on folk & his voice is just to be cherished. If you've never heard this chap B4 then just buy everything by him cos he has soul by the shedload & the picked guitar is so uncluttered & beautiful this song will stain your heart with it's beauty for the rest of your days. To be honest the original never moved me a fraction as much as this version. CDs only on Sub Pop.

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
