What we say

Rating: happy This record left our Ant feeling happy.

I always like it when I hear a record that I'm expecting is going to make me want to eat my own ears doesn't make me want to eat my own ears... Do you ever get that? I've just had it with this here split 7" from THE FAR CRIES / POPULAR WORKSHOP. The Popular Workshop side is a free wheeling melodic indie meets post hardcore track that's a bit like Fury Of The Headteachers. Actually if you're a fan of the aforementioned band then look out for their forthcoming single which is probably the best thing to come out on the Grace label so far. The Far Cries contribution 'When your heart spills' is probably gonna do it for you indie types too. Short but sweet. 7" only on Tiger Trap...

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
