Here is the timely reissue of KODE9 + THE SPACE APE's excellent 'Sine Of The Dub' in all it's 10" glory. This if you don't know is a cover of the Prince Classic 'Sign O The Time'. This is ultra minimal stripped down dubby gear, very slow like with an ultra sinister throbbing bassline that pulsates throughout like a heartbeat. The production is sparce leaving plenty of room for the Space Ape's unique, heavy vocal style. This guy can do no wrong to these ears and the theme of the vocal is still current. He adds his own little twist to the words too. This is proper quality. The flipside is also a belter. 'Stalker' has a similar paranoid feel but this time we're treated to some of Kode 9's crisp off-beat 2step percussion. Hyperdub is a damn fine label and this would have been single of the week had in not been a repress. Brilliant.
