What we say

Rating: happy This record left our phil feeling happy.

JEREMY WARMSLEY has a 7" out on Transgressive which comes in a small pair of jeans. But there's more... oh yes. Inside the pocket in the back of the jeans someone has dropped a 4 track DVD with all of his videos on into every single pair. Yowzers. A truly remarkable feat I'm sure you'll agree and if we were marking on packaging this would get 10 out of 10 cos it's utterly inspired. Musically it's his brand of quirky sensitive weird indie rock clocking in somewhere between The Violent Femmes, James, Patrick Wolf and Mystery Jets... you get the picture? Very polished sounding and it's not half bad at all. He's definitely got some talent..... I'll give him that.  Noice.

What the label says:

Jeremy Warmsley ‘Dirty Blue Jeans’: our most stupendous issue yet an Xmas-special, 500-only, 7” re-release of the classic song from Jeremy’s rigorously acclaimed, debut LP ‘The Art Of Fiction’ (out now), packed in a genuine denim sleeve, and containing a DVD of all four vids to date ‘5 Verses’, ‘DBJ’, ‘I Promise’ and ‘I Believe In The Way You Move’. It also features a brand-new song, ‘Photograph Of A Hospital’ the track composed from Jeremy’s songwriting competition launched several months ago, where our solo troubadour requested fans to send in short stories, and the finest entry would find its tale recounted in blissful, Jeremy-penned, musical form… So here it is, at long last.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
