What we say This record left our Clint feeling ecstatic. Finally something great this week and that's the album, by Tunng on Static Caravan. Now this is a CD/LP you should all buy. It takes its cue from the marvellous music on the soundtrack to The Wicker Man but pours it through the clicks and chops of late 90's electronica. The vocals have a drifty, druggy Beta Band thing going on. There's lots of interesting production effects to keep your ears awake and the biggest plus point? It has great memorable songs and hooks  - I mean you're not going to be caught singing along stadium style but they snag in your head and sound better after every listen. Mothers Daughter & Other Songs is totally Recommended.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
