What the label says:It’s been three years and several months of fortnights since the world was last graced with the sounds of The High Llamas — and, with a handful of exceptions, nearly as long since the Llamas were seen playing their pretty sounds in public. Given the BEET, MAIZE & CORN arrangements, which often removed the rhythm section of the band, leaving a spacious orchestral backing — not to mention the wistful nature of the songs themselves — some of us were given to wonder if The High Llamas were in the winter of their years.
