POLYTECHNIC with their new single "Cold Hearted Business" out on Shatterproof. Still loving their single "Wont you come around". Hear both here. Not as catchy as t'other one (but not many songs are). Still a very enjoyable moment of indie rock had by all with the distinctive piercing vocal delivery leading the whole manchester caboodle. 3rd song find the lads going all acoustic in Gomez fashion with Let me down which was a B-side. He's sounding a bit Charlatans. Yeah still like them.... NEXT What the label says: Following the much-acclaimed ‘Man Overboard’, which bagged an NME Single Of The Week, Polytechnic return with the uplifting single ‘Cold Hearted Business’.The band have just been announced as support to The Shins’ sold out NME show in London.  The CD single and digital download feature a exclusive live acoustic track taken from a radio session in France. About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
