What we say

Rating: happy This record left our Phil feeling happy.

Fat Cat have a new signing in the form of THE TWILIGHT SAD. I've never heard a more obvious Scottish accent in my life. It makes Arab Strap sound like public school boy toffs from Bath. Speaking of Arab Strap I'm reminded of a more post rock Arab Strap, The Walkmen and, at one point, early Snow Patrol (before they signed a deal to be on every episode of Hollyoaks). It's all very Scottish sounding anyway and I'm quite impressed. It's called That Summer, At Home I Had Become The Invisible Boy and it's the Most Scottish record I've ever heard. Scottish.

What the label says:

Debut release outside America for hotly tipped Scottish contenders The Twilight Sad, recalling White Noise-era Creation records, Mogwai and Arab Strap. The Twilight Sad’s debut U.S. only release gathered critical acclaim from key US sites such as Stereogum (who subsequently sponsored their debut NY shows), Spin.com, and Pitchfork, who described their music as “f*cking transcendent”.  Limited to 500 copies.
