Rating: ecstatic This record left Jason feeling ecstatic.

I loved the title track when I heard it a year or so back, and since I heard the others at a live show, I've been totally hooked! really good vocals, nice energetic guitar playing, and the lyrics have a unique insightful cynicism to them. After warming up so nicely, the band really deserve to break through with this.

Hey The Hussy's with Expected Great Things From You. Twee pop from Glasgow with female lead singer who sounds like Cerys from Catatonia. You know dirty. can I say that? well anyway i mean husky and ballsy. Its all pretty cheesy stuff but with enough pop sensibility to do alright I guess if they get some radio play.

What the label says:

Bursting out of the Glasgow scene, fresh from a tour with Little Man Tate, The Hussy’s are here with their debut double A side single “We Expected / Please Don’t’. Released on 30th April, through the ever-growing label, Weekender Records on limited edition 7” and download. The vinyl also contains a third track, Cheap Flowers. Impressive radio play, confirms fans include the likes of Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 MUSIC), Jim Gellatly & Dominik Diamond (XFM), and Janice Long (BBC RADIO 2). After two sell out shows at Glasgow’s infamous King Tuts already this year, their reputation for their thrilling, energetic live shows is preceding them. Now they’re on a tour again, including a date with The Pipettes and an Xfm Outbreak show at London’s Purple Turtle. Come and see them live, and see what all the fuss is about. “Sunny Glaswegian indie pop…if it doesn't make you smile on this snowy day, then nothing will.” – THE GUARDIAN "...Scotland’s Hottest New Band." – THE SUNDAY MAIL “…singer Fili is Scotland's answer to Cerys Matthews (Catatonia). They're going to be your next favourite band.”  – THE DAILY RECORD
