Los Campesinos release their 2nd single on Wichita. The cover of this one features some kind of space monster spewing up fire or something..... most exciting. You! Me! Dancing! is on red vinyl and it comes with a clutch of postcards for you to use and impress people with. Thankfully it's not new rave... that can all fuck off. It was shit at the beginning and it's shit now. Leave it alone. This is more traditional indie rock with hints of Arcade Fire about it but all lo fi and proper sounding. I can't decide if this band are any good or not. I think they might be but I reckon they need more nurturing and time. Things all happen too quickly these days.... blame the internet. Decent enough tune though. What the label says: Cardiff septet release ‘You! Me! Dancing! on Wichita Recordings on June 4th. NME have run Radar piece on band. Sessions on XFM & 6 music. Limited 7" complete with set of postcards (2000 copies) note: last single sold out it's 1500 run in a day so buy early!!

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
