What you sayNo-one has reviewed One Way Kiss by The Neutrinos yet.
What the label says:The Neutrinos release their second album on Aug 6 2007. It’s the record they always threatened to make and certainly the first to truly capture the frisson, menace, energy, excitement and damn raw power of their live performances. Produced by Jonny Cole with the band’s Jon Baker One Way Kiss amply demonstrates why The Neutrinos bluesy garage guitar rock, art-rock if you must, has been gripping audiences in many musical corners of northern Europe and North America. “Throbbing art-punk noise and sexy urgent energy’ Time Out New York. The electrically charged Neutrinos fused at the turn of the century and became a force to be reckoned with by 2004 when they released Sick Love their emotive Paul Sampson (Primitives, Catatonia) produced first album (voted album of the year by E-Zone magazine readers). These former Peel favourites come heavily recommended as a band to catch up close and personal! A taut sonic attack fronted by the never less than attention grabbing, audience hooking, bearpit baiting, incendiary Karen Reilly. They have been likened to a female Nick Cave fronting The Queens of the Stone Age, to a female David Bowie tugging at your eyes, your ears, your organs but they are never less than themselves, never losing identity or direction. Already this year Total Guitar named The Neutrinos as their ‘Hot Band for 2007’, Rhythm magazine identified them as the ‘One To Watch’ and the CMU Daily selected them as their pick of the day. ‘Masterful rock n roll’ Time Out London. To date in 2007 they have graced Berlin’s British Music Week, played the closing set at Manchester’s Girls Got The Blues festival and were one of only 5 UK acts invited to Toronto’s North By North East bash. New York, Belgium and Holland have all recently succumbed to The Neutrinos appeal. ‘A Neutrinos show will leave you dazed, shocked, maybe scared, but certainly thrilled’ World of Gigs USA. Now it’s your turn. In a collection liberally littered with rock radio friendly nuggets suggesting highlights isn’t easy but you may like to take an early look at the hook-savvy title track Kiss Like Killers, Sharkbait which could almost have been learned from an early Black Sabbath album, the deceptively light harmonies of the astonishing Donkey Work or the teutonic guitars of closer Six Noughts. But you really should listen to it all. ‘The Neutrinos are never less than attention grabbing... they look great, and they play greater’ Artrocker |
