Time Is A Spiral: "In Gowan Ring" is the first in a series of 10" single EP's on the Dutch imprint Clear Spot. It's quite clear from the opening track that it's that very fashionable brand of hippie folk. It's even got flutes on it, alongside some lovingly strummed guitars and twiddle-dee, twiddle doh lyrics recorded for a radio session. Hippy folk don't get any hippier than a sleeve with a third eye embedded in a flower with blood coming out of it. The themes of the songs across six tracks include: spells, the moon and beverages made from flowers you'd find in fields anywhere.

The first release in a brand new series of 10”es, featuring some of the most legendary sessions recorded by, at, and for the VPRO radio show ‘Dwars’. In Gowan Ring visited the VPRO studios in June, 2003 and the result was this otherworldly collection of folk songs, with gorgeous medieval elements, friendly pastoral atmospheres and the vibe of the late psychedelic era. A breathtaking first title of what’s bound to become a historic series of vinyl releases. All releases in this series will be strictly limited to 500 copies.
