The single hasn't been released yet, but you used to be able to get this track on their website and myspace and I can tell you it's amazing. If you haven't come across them yet, check out their site or myspace right away and hear for yourself. It's a real shame this song isn't on their any more, but then you could always buy it... Hard to describe this very out there groove, the nearest I can come is 60s psychedelic folk (pentange's Reflection), with an experimental edge (pet sounds) and a rhythm section that kicks ass (the end bit of the stone rose's I am The Resurrection). 10/10 for me. The Soundcarriers: "I Had A Girl" (Heron) Is a sixties sounding pop effort with a drum break that certain hip-hop heads would love to have underneath one of their rhymes. The song itself summons up the vocal sounds of the Mamas & Papas with a summery pre-psychedelic freeness. Most assuredly for fans of the Coral, Broadcast and Air. What the label says: Summery psychedelic pop from hottest new band on the cool psychedelic-folk scene. Released on limited edition 7” vinyl.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
