What the label says:
The Broken Hearts are Amber and Nisha: a DJ and performance duo who see every show as an opportunity to get dressed up.
Playing an upbeat, eclectic mix of 1920s oddities, 30s - 50s swing, 60s girl-group pop and classic rock’n’roll they have brought excitement to the dance floor in some of London’s most prestigious nightspots. From Rakehell’s Revels and Stunner’s International (both featured in Vogue) to the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club (“Best club in London” Time Out) and some of the most exclusive venues in town (Sketch, The Grill Rooms and Café de Paris), the pair play a set that is unsurpassed in terms of style, panache and sheer dance-ability. Having graced the decks of clubs in Paris and Italy, as well as the Hootchy Kootchy club in Stockholm, they are set to spread the Broken Hearts’ charm far and wide.
As performers they have amused and titillated audiences from the East to the West of the capital, at nights such as Jack & Ginger and the Cream Revue Prom, and also appeared in the video for The Fratellis 'Chelsea Dagger' top ten single.
This download & ltd edition 7" vinyl is a collaboration with London’s musician and producer NJ Whitey. This, their first single a double a-side "Black Cat/"Blanco" on the Mute Irregulars label, which features the girls’ vocals and was used to close the PPQ Spring/Summer 2007 catwalk show during London Fashion Week.
