What the label says:
*This is the first Karate release since 2004. *595 shows after Karate first stepped on stage together, Geoff Farina, Jeff Goddard and Gavin McCarthy found themselves in Leuven, Belgium, sweating out what felt like just another tight set at the end of a long tour. *A recording of this May 5th, 2003 show eventually found its way back to the band, who were surprised to hear the clarity and balance that they strive for in the studio. It became the band's favorite live document, and they considered these performances on par with their best studio records. *Here is a snapshot of a great band at their peak - not just "great" in measure of appeal and taste, but as players and performers. *Geoff is currently working on a new solo release for Southern Records, a recording of pre-War blues songs with Chris Brokaw (Codeine, Pullman, The New Year), and recently appeared on an all-covers record called Guilt By Associat -ion with Devendra Banhart, Mike Watt, Will Oldham, Petra Haden, Mark Mulcahy, Jim O'Rourke, and other great performers. *180 gram vinyl pressing. *Tracklisting: 01. The Roots And The Ruins 02. Airport 03. In Hundreds 04. Original Spies 05. Number 6 06. There Are Ghosts 07. Sever 08. Caffeine Or Me |
