Sennen 7" and CD called 'Blackout' on Hungry Audio. They make an accomplished racket. A fine blend of post rock, shoegazing and pop chucked into a filthy music barrel to make a cracking tune. To me it sounds like a cross between Loop and Moose... 2 olde bands from the late 80's but that's what I reckon it sounds like. It's actually a really strong tune and amidst the sea of crap indie singles week in and week out this is one of the strongest I've heard in ages! What the label says: "The sound of Simon and Garfunkel singing over Mogwai. Which is a good thing" - NME Sennen's stunning new single 'Blackout' (with exclusive b-side 'A Different Life') is a limited edition 7" and CDS, the first single from the new album sessions with legendary producer Pat Collier. After their critically acclaimed first album 'Widows' and gigs with the likes of Editors, Explosions in the Sky and Dead Meadow, Pat Collier contacted them and together they have created a remarkable album mixing influences from Teenage Fanclub to Mogwai. 'Blackout' is a song full of melody and original charm refined into a cacophonous statement of intent - Sennen are here to bring back shoe-gaze from the flatlands of Norfolk.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
