What we say

Rating: happy This record left our Mingus Rude feeling happy.

Sky Larkin: 'Molten' / 'Keepsakes' Awarded the golden Norman's honour of the week purely on the strenght of the B-side, this keyboard and beat driven indie pop uumpa lumpa sing-along, deals with the dark matter off chopping someone up just to remind the protagonist of their existance. Kinda spooky really as it's sung in such a sweetly agressive tone. Katie surely is dealing with some dark matters here. If she's not following the path in the profession of an art historian maybe she'll make a handy surgeon instead. If you realy want a comparison then it's the early Sugarcubes way before Bjork took over our hearts and minds. Must admit I'm watching the progress of this Leeds three piece with much expectation, now they've all finished their studies they can now knuckle down to the job in hand. The first task could be to decide which songs make the best A side, In this case I think Keepsakes makes a better lead track as it's more infectious and immediate. Buy this tune and make them stars, I'm sure they can handle the fandom. Classic, strident and compact pop with a certain edge. I think they'll get better and better with encouragement and experimentation.

What the label says:

Second single from heavily tipped Leeds band on Dance To The Radio      Described by NME as “Like Bikini Kill playing Grandaddy songs, or a chance stumbling upon a lost stash of Super Furry Animals numbers”, this new three piece from Leeds have shared the stage with Broken Social Scene, Howling Bells, ¡Forward, Russia! and The Gossip.
They have been widely tipped by many quarters of the press in the last few months and are sure to continue a storm with this, their second single.   The band have received key radio play from Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe and XFM.  Since releasing the sold out single ‘One Of Two’ the band have opened up for Kaiser Chiefs at Wireless infront of thousands and toured with Los Campesinos.

About our used items

These are items we've bought from folks and are selling on to you (hopefully). They should all be in as good as new condition unless stated. We also chuck in some rare promo items as well under the umbrella of 'used' just to separate them from the new release stock which arrives daily. It's all very green 'n all....

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.

'I swear there should have more change from a fiver than what I got.'
