What we say
What the label says:The Bug teams up with the fierce Warrior Queen, a longtime collaborator whom he introduced to UK audiences with ‘Aktion Pak’ on Rephlex Records, after connecting with her via Razor X MC Wayne Lonesome. Just fresh from remixing Ghislain Poirier and Thom Yorke (at Yorke’s request, a big Bug fan), the man has received much praise from such varied mavericks as Massive Attack, Aphex Twin, Kid 606, Andy Weatherall, and Pole. Remixers include South Rakkas Crew (Florida electro-dancehall killers who have worked with heavyweights Beenie Man and Capleton among many others, and who just dropped an EP on Diplo’s Mad Decent label), Skream (Dubstep’s highest profile DJ / producer from the Tempa label), DJ Baku (Japanese mutant turntablist who, alongside DJ Kentaro, is spearheading Japanese deck-freaking skills), and Stereotyp (Viennese future shock dancehall producer who has recorded albums for G-Stone and Klein, and works regularly with Al-Haca). 12” #2 includes ‘Stampin’ which features The Bug’s ongoing lyrical partner Roll Deep mic assassin Flowdan getting heavy on the ‘Poison’ riddim. Both worked together on the ‘Jah War’ and ‘Skeng’ singles. |
