Label: Function Records Format: 7" Munroe Effect's debut single, 'Subterranean Death Clash', opens as all debut singles should, with a heavy-as-sin jarring musical crescendo, before descending into something altogether more beautiful. Review date: 29 April 2008
What the label says:The debut single from Portsmouth’s Munroe Effect. At the end of a storming 2007 that saw them voted best new band out of 700 in the Coke Music/ I-tunes competition and supporting the likes of Oceansize and Reuben they recorded this double A side single which perfectly illustrates the schizophrenic nature of their music, veering from fierce hardcore attacks to more mellow indie interludes reminiscent of Minus the Bear. |
