What we say

Rating: happy This record left our BRIAN D feeling happy.

Now former Arab Strap face Malcolm Middleton. Must admit i prefer the ginna's stuff to the monobrow's. Probably get Mogwai down here trying to bum me with bottles of voddy for that one. Hahaha. 'Sleight of Heart' is full of his post-folk, orchestral pop that is really bloody well written, it hurts. This is up there with Yorkston & better than Creosote in my bag. His homely lyrics about the small things in life over an earthy, warm and full backing just reek of cosy nights with family in country pubs drinking real ale & punching each others face off after 20 pints. And running over badgers. Well sometimes. Nah, serious, this man's got real soul & his guitar playing is true folk loveliness. CD atm, with vinyl to follow.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.

'Bringing you music in return for cash.'
