Pub: 'Making Trakcx.3' (Ampoule) Third in this series of 3" CD's from Scotlands pioneers of meth tech-dub. Comes packaged in cardboard sleeve with sticker and handstamped info. Of all the purveyors of this post-Techno hybrib of drift/dub Pub come out tops for me as the quality of their productions have that certain post-club glow highlighted by glistening keys, warm washes and panoramic vistas (yeah you've probably heard that analogy about a million times on these pages). A Pub review is not complete until I've made my drug references, I'll abstain this time around and add that Pub make the lushest drone/tone poems as only a largely instrumental producer can. Top one, as we say over the hill. What the label says: second part of a current monthly series. strictly limited. no repress. luas dul amach

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
