What we say

Rating: ecstatic This record left our el clinton feeling ecstatic.

probably the best two songs written by anyone ever.....this contains the classic original version of 'way out' which pisses all over the album version and you get an unreleased version of 'there she goes' as well as the original. pop music rarely puts such an enormous grin on my (usually dour) face.

What the label says:

The La's are one of the most influential bands of modern times, despite their modest output of one album and a handful of singles.

As a taster to the fortcoming Deluxe Edition of the album, this single features the previously unreleased John Leckie version of their classic track 'There She Goes'.

The AA side features the original single version of 'There She Goes' plus the band's first ever release 'Way Out'. 'Way Out' was originally released 21 years ago and was the band's debut release.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.

'if you can’t be the song, let the song be.'
