That Tunng band. You could spot his lullabye-tastic tones a mile off, ol' Sam Genders. It'd be easy to confuse The Accidental with Tunng from a mere "surface" listen. His voice, especially, and the arrangements are a little familiar, but this debut album 'There Were Wolves' is much more pure & tranquil, less pop, more traditional folk. Rudimentary clip-clop percussion, twinkling acoustics & earthy vocal harmonies create an intimate & comforting campfire vibe. Various tracks are embellished with simple piano keys, violin, viola, cello, Dulcimer & harp so just close your eyes & marvel at the quality of the songwriting. Just great stripped down roots music for a new generation. A rather fine album on the first couple of listens, this could just be Tunng "unplugged" but I can hear much, much more in here. CD/Ltd LP and there's a limited poster that's an exclusive to us. If you liked that Mechanical Bird CD from Denmark the other week then this does similar things for me!
