Brilliant stuff, both inside and outside - the packaging is an art piece and the music is a real pleasure for the ears. Surprising and creative.

The second release on Moteer's Mobeer label is by Then Dof (Jonny from Clickits)and it is an intriguing little 3" CD of dub drenched, sparse organic sounding electronics. Lots of little details, clicks and pops with an ethereal quality. The percussion is nice and wooden sounding. Track 4 is particularly melancholy with a real introspective feel. You can almost sing along to the fifth track with its infectious little thing happening and lush use of effects. Pretty cool disc in sealed envelope with beermat and bloody limited and all. Oh and you get a thing where you can download 5 extra tracks.

hot(ish) on the heels of mobeer number one comes, predictably, mobeer number two. gone is the superstar remix policy of the first release, replaced instead by jonny russell one half of east lancashires second most succsessful electronica duo, clickits. for this release russell has adopted the then dof moniker and conclusively proves that a move away from accrington to the artististic rockpool of the cornish coast has done nothing to diminish his sombre electronic impulses.

russell once went into the office of moteers uk distibutors demanding the remaining copies of the clickits debut 12'' so that he could burn them. he was serious. if that doesn't make you buy this 3'' cd of seefeel meets prime skam via whoever on valium under a table or something then nothin will.

act quick ltd to 225 copies housed on a 3'' cd placed on artworked beermats in a hand printed and cut paper sleeve and then popped into a individually stamped wages envelope, the other one sold out in a weekend.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
