What we say
This record left our Phil feeling happy.
I suspect The Rascals will be a wee bit more popular now the singer has shared the stage with that Arctic Monkeys chap. We shall see eh? Freakbeat Phantom is the title of their new single and it's a slab of 60's merseybeat pop. Exactly what you'd expect from Deltasonic. No changes there.... quite like it though it did take a few listens. If you like The Coral you'll more than likely like this I think. The 10" comes with a limited box.... these haven't arrived yet and they should be here on monday. Though if you're reading this on the site in about 6 months time this is probably gonna seem very confusing. Time is a funny ole thing eh?

OVERVIEW: The Rascals are back with another single and a tour of the UK to continue their road to triumph. ‘Freakbeat Phantom’ produced by Ben Hillier (Blur, The Horrors, Doves) will be released through Deltasonic Records on the 16th June and will be available on CD, 10" vinyl and digital download. Taking a nod from the Liverpool music scene that they grew up in, The Rascals have an ear for beautiful pop melodies and an instinct for psychedelic quirk, however there's a unique and compelling dark soul that underlines their spirit. Formed in May 2007, the Wirral-based trio of Miles Kane (guitar/vocals), Joe Edwards (bass) and Greg Mighall (drums), have known each other since their youths. After spending the last 3 years learning their craft as part of The Little Flames, and touring with the likes of The Coral, The Zutons and of course, the Arctic Monkeys, in September, 2006 they began jamming and writing new material as a three piece and there was born The Rascals.
